
Jammu, April 11 Eleven drug dealers were arrested along with heroin in separate locations in the districts of Udhampur, Poonch, and Doda in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, police said.
Four drug dealers were apprehended after 13 grams of heroin were seized during a check of their car in Lamberi, Rajouri district, a police spokesperson said.
He said that three drug dealers were arrested when police intercepted a private vehicle bound for Srinagar on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway at Chenani and recovered 10.16 grams of heroin from their possession.
Another drug dealer was also arrested along with 2.59 grams of heroin at the same checkpoint, he added.
A couple, traveling on a motorcycle, were arrested after 102.44 grams of heroin were seized from them at a checkpoint in the Goond area of Nagri Parole in Kathua district.
The couple – Saphai Din and his wife Zoona – were coming from the Bamyal area of Punjab when they were apprehended, the spokesperson said.
He also added that another drug dealer was arrested along with 4.43 grams of heroin during a search of a bus in Khelani, Doda district.
All the arrested dealers have been booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and further investigation is ongoing, the spokesperson said.
