In Jammu and Kashmir, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) of the Northern Command, Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, visited Kishtwar on Tuesday and commended the troops for their swift and precise action, which led to the successful conduct of Operation Trashi on February 22, 2026. This operation resulted in the elimination of three Jaish terrorists, including their notorious commander Saifullah, who were sponsored by Pakistan. Akashvani Jammu correspondent reports that while felicitating the Army troops and personnel from the Police and other agencies, Lieutenant General Sharma praised their committed professionalism and reiterated the commitment to a terror-free and peaceful Jammu and Kashmir. The Army Commander commended the troops for their swift and precise action. He also praised their professionalism, commitment, and unwavering resolve to ensure a terror-free and peaceful Jammu and Kashmir. Notably, after the killing of three terrorists on February 22, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi also commended the troops for their steadfast resolve, operational excellence, and seamless coordination during ongoing operations, reiterating the commitment to ensure lasting peace in J&K "with zero tolerance for terrorism in all its forms." Prior to the visit by the Northern Command Commander, Lieutenant General P K Mishra along with GOC CIF (D) Major General APS Bal, visited various locations in Kishtwar on Monday to review ongoing counter-terrorism operations in the region.
