
In Jammu and Kashmir, the Meteorological Department (MeT) has forecast generally cloudy weather with light rain and snowfall in higher reaches at several locations within the Union Territory over the coming days. An Akashvani Jammu correspondent reports that, according to the MeT department, the weather is expected to remain generally cloudy today and on March 9, with light rain and snowfall in isolated areas at higher elevations. From March 10 to 12, the region is likely to experience generally cloudy conditions with light rain and snowfall in higher reaches at many locations in the Kupwara, Bandipora, Ganderbal, and Anantnag districts. Between March 13 and 15, the weather is likely to remain generally cloudy with light rain and snowfall in isolated areas at higher elevations. Similar conditions are expected to continue between March 16 and 17. The MeT office has advised farmers to suspend farm operations between March 10 and 12 due to the forecast. It also stated that daytime temperatures are likely to fall by 4 to 6 degrees Celsius at many locations after March 9 and may remain lower until March 12. However, Srinagar recorded a maximum temperature of 24.5 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 10.5 degrees Celsius. Gulmarg recorded a maximum of 16.6 degrees Celsius and a minimum of -2.0 degrees Celsius. Jammu recorded a maximum temperature of 31.8 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 19.1 degrees Celsius.
