February 26, New Delhi – India delivered a strong response to Pakistan at the 61st session of the UN Human Rights Council, accusing Islamabad of spreading propaganda.

First Secretary Anupama Singh, in Geneva, stated that India exercised its right to reply to reject the allegations made by Pakistan and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, accusing the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) of echoing Pakistan's narrative.

She reiterated that Jammu & Kashmir is an integral and inseparable part of India, with its accession in 1947 being legal and irrevocable under the Indian Independence Act and international law. India called on Pakistan to vacate illegally occupied territories and highlighted the record voter turnout in J&K as proof that its people have rejected terrorism and are committed to democracy and development.
