
Jabalpur, Apr 1 The Jabalpur Royal Lions acquired the services of veteran pacer Puneet Datey for Rs 10 lakh after a bidding war at the recently concluded MPL T20 auctions.
With each team having an auction purse of Rs 50 lakh for a squad composition of 15, Datey emerged as the most sought-after player, and Ajay Rohera was the next best pick at Rs 8.20 lakh.
A major highlight of the auction for the Royal Lions was the retention of Rahul Batham for Rs 3 lakh.
The fast bowling all-rounder, who served as the vice-captain in the previous season, continues to be a key figure in the team's core setup.
Team owner Ayush Lalwani said: "We aimed to build a fearless squad this year, and with the balance we've achieved, we truly believe this is our opportunity to win the trophy."
