
Jaipur, March 20 Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said on Friday that the state government is working to provide seamless transport facilities to Jaipur residents through the metro network.
Chairing a meeting on the Jaipur Metro at the Chief Minister's Office, Sharma said that timely development of the project with controlled costs is essential while keeping future requirements in mind.
According to a release, he directed officials to include all key locations in the plan, saying that expansion in densely populated areas should be prioritized and linked to the existing metro line.
The state government had announced the preparation of a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for metro expansion in the Jagatpura and Vaishali Nagar areas in the state budget 2025-26.
The Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation officials presented the proposed plans to the chief minister.
Sharma directed authorities to prepare a master plan for extending the metro network to areas including Amber, Bagrana, Jagatpura and Heerapura, taking into account the growing population.
He also reviewed the progress of Metro Phase-2, Phase-1C (Badi Chaupad-Transport Nagar) and Phase-1D (Mansarovar-Ajmer Road Chauraha).
