
External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar met with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney in New Delhi this morning. In a social media post, Dr. Jaishankar praised Carney's commitment to forging a forward-looking partnership.
The Canadian Prime Minister is on a four-day visit to India, which began on the 27th of last month. This is Prime Minister Carney's first official visit to India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Canadian counterpart, Mark Carney, will hold delegation-level talks at Hyderabad House in New Delhi this afternoon. Both leaders will review the progress made in various areas of the India-Canada Strategic Partnership.
They will also assess ongoing cooperation in key areas, including trade and investment, energy, critical minerals, agriculture, education, research, and innovation, and people-to-people ties. The two leaders will discuss regional and global developments. Prime Minister Modi and Prime Minister Carney will also attend the India-Canada CEOs Forum.
