Srinagar, March 10 The Jammu and Kashmir government has dismissed three employees of the Jal Shakti (Water Resources) department for their alleged involvement in "anti-national and subversive activities," officials said on Tuesday.

Among the three employees, two were from the Kishtwar district in Jammu, while one was from Anantnag district in south Kashmir.

They have been identified as Liyaqat Ali Bhagwan, a resident of Bhagwan Mohalla Huller in Kishtwar; Kousar Hussain Bhagwan, son of Mohammad Akbar Bhagwan and a resident of Hunjala in Kishtwar, and Showkat Ahmad Zargar, a resident of Iqbal Mohalla Bijbehara in Anantnag.

According to the dismissal order issued by Shaleen Kabra, the financial commissioner of the Jal Shakti department, Liyaqat was employed as a temporary, needs-based worker and was stationed in Berwar, Kishtwar.

Kousar Hussain was also employed as a temporary, needs-based worker at Huller under the PHE Sub-Division in Kishtwar, while Showkat was a daily-wage labourer in Bijbehara, the order stated.
