
In Jammu and Kashmir, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah distributed 153 appointment letters under SRO-43/94 at the Convention Centre in Jammu today, providing government jobs to the next of kin of deceased employees. An Akashvani Jammu correspondent reports that the appointments were made out of compassion to support families whose primary earning members had passed away or were unable to continue their service due to eligible circumstances. The initiative aims to ensure financial stability and livelihood support for such families. Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said that while the occasion may not be one of celebration, it is a moment of responsibility and hope. He extended his best wishes to all the beneficiaries and urged them to work with dedication and sincerity to build a secure and bright future. The CM reiterated that the J&K Government is committed to the welfare of affected families and is making continuous efforts to ensure that such appointments are provided in a timely and transparent manner. A large number of beneficiaries and their family members attended the programme, where appointment letters from various departments were handed over. The event highlights the government's continued focus on compassionate appointments and its commitment to supporting families during difficult times.
