Jammu, April 6 The BJP celebrated its 47th foundation day across Jammu and Kashmir on Monday, as party members organized rallies, raised flags, and held programs at various levels.
The party units organized programs from the booth to the district level to raise awareness among the public about its ideology and initiatives.
As part of the celebrations, BJP workers raised party flags at Sat Sharma's residence in Jammu, at the party headquarters, and organized rallies across the city and other parts of the Union Territory, highlighting the achievements of the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Speaking to reporters, Sat Sharma said that the BJP, founded on April 6, 1980, has grown into the world's largest political party.
He said, "India is steadily progressing under the current leadership, and the party remains committed to inclusive development."
"India is emerging as a leading global power under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, guided by the principle of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Prayas'," he added.
He also conveyed his best wishes to party workers, voters, supporters, and well-wishers across Jammu and Kashmir and the country.
Sharma said that the foundation day is being celebrated like a festival, with party flags hoisted at booths, the homes of booth presidents and workers, and at illuminated party offices since the previous evening.
Emphasizing the party's core ideology, he said that for the BJP cadre, the nation's interest comes first, followed by the party's interest, while personal interest comes last. He also urged supporters and sympathizers to hoist the party flag at their homes.
The party MLA Yudhvir Sethi, who led a rally carrying party flags in the old city area, said that the BJP, with around 18 crore members, is like a vast banyan tree and the largest political party in the world.
He said that party workers act as "soldiers" of the organization and nurture it through dedication and selfless service.
"The large number of workers gathered here reflects their spirit of sacrifice, as they believe in giving rather than taking, which has taken the party to great heights," he said.
The celebrations witnessed the participation of senior leaders, district office-bearers, and grassroots workers, who reiterated their commitment to strengthening the party and working towards national development.
