
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) stated that erratic weather conditions are likely to persist in Jammu and Kashmir until March 20, with intermittent rainfall in the plains and snowfall in higher areas expected in the coming days. An Akashvani Jammu correspondent reports that, according to the IMD, generally dry weather is expected to prevail across the Union Territory today and on March 14. The weather department stated that generally cloudy weather with light to moderate rainfall in the plains and snowfall in higher areas is expected towards the night of March 15 and the morning of March 16 in scattered to many places. The weather is likely to remain generally cloudy on March 17 and 18, with the possibility of brief spells of light rain or snowfall in isolated areas towards the night of March 17 and the morning of March 18. For March 19 and 20, the IMD has forecast generally cloudy conditions with the possibility of light to moderate rainfall in the plains and snowfall in higher areas in scattered to many places. The department stated that weather conditions are likely to remain generally dry between March 21 and 23. The department issued an advisory warning of possible thunderstorms and gusty winds at a few places towards the evening of March 15. Farmers have been advised to resume farm operations today and on March 14 when dry weather is expected to prevail.
