The government of Jammu and Kashmir ordered a major administrative reshuffle on Tuesday, transferring and appointing 22 officers across the Union Territory. The changes were announced by the General Administration Department and include 20 IAS and two JKAS officers.

Among the key appointments, Ashwani Kumar has been appointed as Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary) of the Power Development Department, with additional responsibility for the Mining Department. Ashish Chandra Verma will continue as Financial Commissioner (ACS) of the Tourism Department, and will also hold additional responsibility for the Agriculture Production Department, while Shailendra Kumar takes over as Financial Commissioner (ACS) of the Finance Department.

M. Raju will continue as Commissioner/Secretary of the General Administration Department, with additional responsibility for Health and Medical Education, and R. Alice Vaz has been appointed as Commissioner/Secretary of the Planning, Development and Monitoring Department, along with the Information Department.

Several new Deputy Commissioners have also been appointed, including Athar Aamir Ul Shafi Khan (Budgam), Kumar Abhishek (Reasi), Bilal Mohiud Din Bhat (Anantnag), Minga Sherpa (Udhampur), Syeed Fakhrudin Hamid (Baramulla), Shahzad Alam (Kulgam), and Krishan Lal (Doda).

The reshuffle also includes appointments in key sectors such as Finance, Health, Youth Services, Skill Development, and the Jal Jeevan Mission, aimed at strengthening governance and administrative efficiency across Jammu and Kashmir.
