Minister of Youth Services and Sports, Satish Sharma, has emphasized the need to promote sports, strengthen communal harmony, and maintain strict control over the growing problem of drug abuse in society.

The minister was addressing a program during the Sikh Premier Cricket League being held at the Jammu University Ground.

Speaking on the occasion, Sharma said that drug abuse poses a serious challenge and threatens the future of young people. He stressed that this problem must be addressed through widespread awareness and strict enforcement of laws.

Highlighting the importance of sports, the minister said that sports and physical fitness play a vital role in keeping young people engaged in positive activities and away from harmful ones.

He also reiterated the government's commitment to promoting a vibrant sports culture and developing strong sports infrastructure across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
