Jamshedpur, March 24 The decomposed body of a patient was recovered from the premises of a government-run hospital here, over a week after he went missing, police said on Tuesday.

Deputy Superintendent of MGM Hospital, Dr Jujhar Majhi, told

The deceased has been identified as Sunil Yadav (54), a resident of Baba Kutty in Bagbeda locality. He was first admitted to Sadar Hospital following complaints of weakness, and later referred to MGM Hospital on March 13.

Majhi said Yadav was reported missing since March 16. His body was found lying allegedly in a pile of garbage near the cath lab of the hospital on Monday evening.

Family members, however, claimed of negligence on the part of the hospital authorities.

Officer-in-Charge of MGM police station, Sachin Kumar Das, said an unnatural death case has been registered in this connection and investigation is underway.

The body has been sent for post-mortem examination, he added.
