Betul (MP), April 3 Two men were killed and four others were injured when their speeding jeep crashed into a wall in the Gauthan area here, police said.
The incident occurred on the Parasia highway around 11 pm on Thursday, according to an official of the Kotwali police station.
The driver of the Bolero jeep lost control of the vehicle and it collided with the wall of Man Mandir Lawn, he said.
Prafull Anil Thoke (25) and Puneet Thackeray (25), residents of Arjun Nagar, died instantly. The four injured persons were being treated at the district hospital, and two of them were reportedly in critical condition.
According to eyewitnesses, it was raining lightly at the time of the incident.
The front of the vehicle was completely damaged, with the airbags deployed, they said.
Local residents who rushed to the scene after hearing the crash pulled out the victims who were trapped inside the vehicle.
Further investigation is underway, the official said.
