Jharkhand Agriculture Minister Urges Farmers to Embrace Advanced Techniques to Boost Income
Workshop in Ranchi Highlights Departmental Schemes and Technological Advancements
Ranchi, May 10 – Jharkhand Agriculture Minister Shilpi Neha Tirkey on Saturday emphasized the importance of adopting advanced farming techniques to significantly boost farmers’ income. She was speaking at the inauguration of a day-long ‘Agriculture Workshop cum Training’ programme held at Banhora Jatra ground in Ranchi.Addressing a gathering of local farmers and agricultural stakeholders, Tirkey stated, “Farmers need to adopt advanced farming techniques, which would help grow their income.”
During the event, the Agriculture Department showcased a range of government schemes and initiatives designed to empower the farming community. The workshop aimed to equip farmers with modern methods and tools that could transform their yield and profitability.
The minister highlighted a striking increase in profits through modern agriculture, noting that while farmers earlier earned an average of Rs 25,000 per acre, those using advanced techniques now report profits of up to Rs 1 lakh per acre.
The training program forms part of the state’s broader push to encourage sustainable and profitable farming, especially in rural and tribal regions of Jharkhand.
The event concluded with interactive sessions, where farmers received practical guidance on implementing these new technologies in their daily practices.
