Hazaribag (Jharkhand), February 16 An elderly couple was allegedly murdered by unidentified assailants in the Hazaribag district of Jharkhand, police said.
The bodies were recovered from their room on Monday and sent for post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
The incident took place in the Babupara village, which falls within the jurisdiction of the Badkagaon police station.
"Prima facie, it appears the couple was killed with a sharp object on Sunday night. We are investigating the case," Krishna Gupta, in-charge of the Barkagaon police station, said.
He added that the couple lived alone in the house, while their children lived in the nearby neighborhood.
