Medininagar, March 16 A 50-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death with sticks and iron rods by his relatives over a land dispute in the Palamu district of Jharkhand, police said on Monday.

The incident occurred in Chauwa Chattan village under the Hussainabad police station limits on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Jaynarayan Yadav.

"The man succumbed to injuries while being taken to RIMS, Ranchi. There were five to six assailants who used sticks and iron rods to attack Yadav, resulting in his death," said Hussainabad police station officer-in-charge Chandan Kumar.

The police have registered an FIR and launched an investigation.

"The accused have been identified, and a search is underway to apprehend them," he added.
