Ranchi, March 21 Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar and Chief Minister Hemant Soren extended greetings to the people on the occasion of Sarhul and Eid festivals on Saturday.
The state's largest tribal festival, Sarhul, and the Muslim community's 'Eid-ul-Fitr' are being celebrated across the state with religious and traditional fervor, amid tight security arrangements.
"Heartfelt greetings and best wishes on the nature festival of 'Sarhul'. This sacred festival symbolizes the renewal of nature, joy, and hope, and inspires us towards environmental conservation and harmonious living," Gangwar posted on X.
Extending his greetings on Eid, he said, "May this auspicious festival bring joy and prosperity into your life, and further strengthen mutual love, harmony, and brotherhood."
The chief minister said Sarhul is not merely a festival but a symbol of the deep connection between nature, the environment, and human life.
"Heartfelt congratulations and Johar to everyone on the auspicious occasion of the nature festival, Sarhul. Sarhul is not merely a festival, but a symbol of the profound bond shared between nature, the environment, and human life," Soren posted on X.
He said the festival teaches people that a prosperous and sustainable future can only be achieved by maintaining harmony with water, forests, and land.
He prayed that the sacred festival of Sarhul bring happiness, peace and prosperity into the lives of people.
Extending his wishes on Eid, Soren said, "The festival conveys a message of love, brotherhood, compassion, and mutual harmony. The self-restraint, service, and worship observed during the month of Ramadan inspire us to strengthen compassion and unity within society. I pray that you all remain happy and blessed."
