Ranchi, February 24 In an effort to promote tourism in Jharkhand, the state government proposed in the Budget for the 2026-27 fiscal the establishment of floating restaurants, solar-powered boats, skywalks, glass watchtowers, and ropeways in various areas.

A budgetary allocation of Rs 361.67 crore has been earmarked for the tourism sector.

"Tourism has immense potential in Jharkhand. To promote the sector, the Budget proposes the construction of a glass bridge at Dassam falls, a glass bridge and ropeway at Jonha falls, and a ropeway at Hundu falls, all located in the Ranchi district," state Finance Minister Radhakrishna Kishore said in the House.

Similarly, a skywalk, solar-powered boat, and floating restaurant have been proposed at Patratu in Jharkhand's Ramgarh district.

In the Latehar district, a glass watchtower at Koyal view point in Netarhat and a skywalk at Magnolia point have been proposed.

The Punasi Dam in Deoghar and the Malay Dam in the Palamu district will be developed as tourist destinations, he said.

"To promote mining tourism in the state, a memorandum of understanding has already been signed between India Tourism Development Corporation Limited and Central Coalfield Limited," Kishore added.
