Chaibasa, March 20 A couple was allegedly killed in their sleep by unidentified individuals in the Goilkera area of Jharkhand, according to a police officer.
The couple's children found them lying in a pool of blood on Thursday morning and alerted the authorities, said Sub-Divisional Police Officer (Chakradharpur) Kumar Vinod.
The villagers took the victims to a nearby community health center, where doctors pronounced them dead.
An investigation is underway, the officer said, adding that police have recovered an axe from the scene.
