Deoghar, March 25 Police in Jharkhand's Deoghar district launched a chatbot on Wednesday, allowing people to file specific complaints without visiting a police station, an official said.

The 'Samvad' Chatbot Service was launched for public convenience and safety, the official said.

"This initiative aligns with our aim of 'Police at your doorstep'. In this era of technology, we are utilizing a WhatsApp Chatbot service. Through this platform, residents from any part of the district can connect with the police on the mobile number 92969-13006," SP Sourabh said.

Initially, people will benefit by raising their complaints through this platform regarding passports, character certificates, lost or stolen mobile phones, traffic issues, cybercrime, etc, he said.

"They will not have to visit the police station to register complaints regarding these issues," he said.

Over time, the platform will be updated with more services as needed, the official added.
