Gumla, March 28 A 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a man in the Gumla district of Jharkhand, police said on Sunday.
The incident occurred on Friday within the Ghaghara police station limits, when the victim was returning home from a Ram Navami fair along with a male friend, police said.
"We have registered an FIR based on the statement of the victim's father on Saturday. The victim has undergone a medical examination. The incident took place on Friday night. She had gone to a Ram Navami fair at Gamharia. When she was returning home with him, the man raped her," said Mohan Kumar Singh, officer in-charge of Ghaghara Police Station.
So far, the accused has not been arrested as he is on the run. Efforts are being made to trace and apprehend him.
