Jamshedpur, March 15 Two boys died after being hit by the wheels of a speeding truck in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, a police officer said on Sunday.

The incident took place on Saturday evening in the Kudada area, which falls under the Sundarnagar police station, he said.

The deceased, aged between 13 and 14 years, were identified as Durga Hembram and Marshal Soren, according to Ajit Munda, the Officer-in-Charge of the Sundarnagar police station.

Local residents reportedly vandalized the truck and detained the driver, who was later released after the police intervened on Sunday morning.

Traffic was disrupted at Kudada after the crowd staged a road blockade, demanding adequate compensation for the families of the deceased.

The blockade was lifted around 11:30 am on Sunday after discussions on compensation, the officer said.
