
Chatra (Jharkhand), March 18 A 31-year-old Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) soldier allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle in the Chatra district of Jharkhand, police said on Wednesday.
The incident took place at the Shila picket, under the jurisdiction of the Simaria police station. The deceased, identified as Prahlad Kumar Singh, a resident of the Mahtodih village in the Deoghar district, was found dead, they said.
"The soldier allegedly shot himself dead with his service rifle. The incident occurred around 8 pm on Tuesday. He was stationed at the Shila picket. The body has been sent to the Chatra Sadar Hospital for post-mortem examination. The autopsy will be conducted by a team of doctors under the supervision of a magistrate," Harishchandra Tirvar, in-charge of the Shila outpost, told
