
Dumka, March 14 Two people were killed after being hit by trains in separate incidents in the Dumka district of Jharkhand on Saturday, police said.
The incident occurred on the Handiha-Godda railway track near the villages of Babankheta and Chorbatia in the district, they said.
"The bodies were found lying on the railway track, approximately 1.5 km apart," said Ajit Kumar Yadav, in-charge of the Hansdiha police station.
According to initial investigations, one of the victims died around 1 am, while the other was killed after being hit by a train later in the morning, Yadav said.
"The deceased are likely to be between 30 and 35 years old. Their identities are yet to be confirmed," he added.
The bodies have been sent to Phulo Jhano Medical College and Hospital in Dumka for post-mortem examination.
