
Jaipur, April 1 A teacher at a government school died after her scooter collided with an SUV in the Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan on Wednesday morning, while she was on her way to work, police said.
The accident occurred on Chirawa Road in Pilani when the woman was crossing the road. CCTV footage of the accident has also emerged, they said.
Pilani Station House Officer Chandrabhan said that Damyanti Chanwaria (45), a teacher at a government upper primary school, died in the accident.
"She had left home on her scooter to go to work when the collision occurred," he said.
The SUV was being driven by Manoj Saini, a resident of Laxmi Colony in Pilani, who is also a teacher at a school in Chirawa and was on his way to work at the time, police said.
After the accident, Saini, along with others, took the injured teacher to Birla Public Hospital and informed the police, officials added.
Both vehicles have been impounded, and further investigation is underway.
