
In Jammu and Kashmir, the District Employment and Counselling Centre in Samba organized a job fair today with the aim of providing employment opportunities to job seekers in the district. An Akashvani Jammu correspondent reports that a total of 24 companies participated in the job fair, collectively offering more than 600 vacancies across various sectors, including Industry, Pharmaceuticals, Agriculture, Security, Sales, and other related fields. The job fair saw enthusiastic participation from young people. A total of 150 candidates were shortlisted, and 20 candidates were selected on the spot by different recruiting employers. Assistant Director of Employment, Naresh Kumar, advised the youth to register on the Mission YUVA (www.missionyuva.jk.gov.in) portal to avail the government incentives and schemes for unemployed youth. He informed that after registering with Mission YUVA, candidates become eligible to apply for subsidized financial assistance schemes, including Nano and MSME in the Sunrise and Focus sectors, as well as the Existing Enterprises scheme, which promotes existing businesses. He further informed that registered candidates can apply for jobs online through the Mission YUVA portal and can also avail short-duration, free skill development courses organized by the Employment Department during the job fairs.
