India and Mozambique concluded the Fifth Joint Defence Working Group (JDWG) meeting in Maputo, Mozambique, today. The Ministry of Defence stated that the meeting reaffirms the strong ties between the two countries and their shared commitment to regional security and stability. During the meeting, issues related to strengthening defence cooperation between the two countries were discussed. It also added that both sides conducted a comprehensive review of the progress made since the previous JDWG meeting and outlined a forward-looking roadmap for defence engagement.

Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Defence, Amitabh Prasad, led the Indian delegation, which included senior representatives from the Ministry of Defence, the Indian Armed Forces, and the Indian Coast Guard. The discussions focused on expanding structured military exchanges, joint training opportunities, maritime domain awareness, conducting military exercises, and promoting collaboration in the supply of defence equipment.
