India and Israel have reiterated their commitment to cooperate in combating terrorism and terrorist organizations, along with their proxies, supporters, sponsors, financiers, and backers.

During the 10th meeting of the India-Israel Joint Working Group (JWG) on Counter Terrorism, held in New Delhi yesterday, both sides strongly and unequivocally condemned terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, and emphasized that confronting terrorism requires sustained, comprehensive, and concerted action.

The Indian delegation was led by Dr. Vinod Bahade, Joint Secretary for Counter Terrorism in the Ministry of External Affairs. The Israeli side was led by Nadav Eschar, Head of Bureau, Strategic Affairs Division, in Israel's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. They strongly condemned the brutal terror attacks in both countries and stressed the urgent need to hold the perpetrators accountable.

They reviewed traditional and emerging challenges such as terrorist recruitment, misuse of technology for terrorist purposes, terror financing, and expressed concern over the increasing use of unmanned aerial vehicles, drones, and artificial intelligence for terrorist activities.

Both countries also highlighted the spirit and broad scope of the India-Israel Strategic Partnership. The two countries discussed ways to enhance cooperation through training, cybersecurity, sharing of best practices, and information exchange under bilateral and multilateral frameworks. They also discussed strengthening law enforcement and judicial cooperation, including cooperation on mutual legal assistance requests.

It was decided that the next meeting of the Joint Working Group on Counter Terrorism will be held in Israel.
