Jaipur, March 31 Jungle safaris in Rajasthan will become more expensive for tourists starting April 1, as the forest department has increased entry fees by 10% across all national parks, tiger reserves, and wildlife sanctuaries, officials said.
The revised rates, which will be in effect for two years, also include a 10% increase in charges for buses, jeeps, and cameras.
Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Chief Wildlife Warden K C A Arun Prasad said the increase covers entry fees, vehicle entry charges, camera fees, and an eco-development surcharge.
In Ranthambore National Park, Indian tourists will now pay Rs 215 per person, including the eco-development charge, while foreign visitors will be charged Rs 1,575 per person. The fee for students has been fixed at Rs 65.
For other parks, excluding Keoladeo National Park and Ranthambore, Indian tourists will pay Rs 165 per person and foreign tourists Rs 1,010, while students will continue to pay Rs 65.
Vehicle charges in Ranthambore have also been revised, with buses priced at Rs 1,095, jeeps and cars at Rs 695, and e-rickshaws or two-wheelers at Rs 115.
Camera fees have also been increased, with Indian companies required to pay Rs 15,980 per day for documentary and film production, and foreign companies Rs 24,200.
For feature films and advertisements, the charges have been set at Rs 1,06,480 per day for Indian companies and Rs 1,57,300 for foreign firms, the official said.
