February 22, Anantnag: In a major relief for residents of South Kashmir, the Sangam Hiller Kandiwara Bridge, which was damaged during recent flash floods, has been successfully restored, bringing normal movement back to the area.
The bridge collapsed due to sudden and heavy flash floods, severely disrupting connectivity and cutting off access to several villages. Daily commuters faced hardships as the vital link connects interior areas with National Highway 244, making it crucial for transportation and movement in the region.
Acting promptly after the damage, the Anantnag District Administration launched immediate restoration work. Engineers and field staff worked continuously to rebuild the damaged structure and ensure the bridge was made operational at the earliest possible time.
The swift action has drawn appreciation from local residents, who expressed gratitude to DD News for highlighting the issue and also thanked the district administration for its timely and efficient response.
