Chennai, March 14 – The makers of director Vignesh Raja's upcoming action entertainer 'Kara', featuring actor Dhanush in the lead, released 'Vaaya Ey Karasaami', the first lyric video from the film, on Saturday, much to the delight of fans and film enthusiasts.
The intense, percussion-driven song is a plea to the deity Karasaami (which incidentally is also the name of the film's protagonist), asking it to intervene against the wicked and bring an end to their actions. The song, a powerful piece, urges the deity to seek revenge.
Composed by music director G V Prakash Kumar, the song features lyrics by Arunraja Kamaraj and has been sung by Arunraja Kamaraj, Anthony Daasan, Satyan, and V M Mahalingam.
The song has further heightened the excitement among fans, who are eagerly awaiting the film's release, scheduled for April 30 this year.
It may be recalled that the makers had announced the title of the film on Pongal this year. They had also released a poster of the film, in which Dhanush is seen sporting a serious expression. The poster read, "Sometimes, being dangerous is the only way to survive."

The makers had previously released a still of Dhanush from the film. The production house had shared the picture on social media, saying, "Straight from the sets of #D54 – Shoot in progress! @dhanushkraja". The picture showed Dhanush speaking from a public phone booth.
The film features Mamitha Baiju as the female lead and boasts a strong cast as well as a brilliant technical crew.
Apart from Dhanush and Mamitha Baiju, the film will also feature director K S Ravikumar, Jayaram, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Karunas, and Prithvi Pandiraj in prominent roles.
From a technical standpoint, the cinematography will be handled by Theni Eswar, one of the best in the industry, and the editing will be done by Sreejith Sarang. The music will be composed by National Award winner G V Prakash.
Significantly, the story of the film has been jointly penned by writer Alfred Prakash and director Vignesh Raja, the creators of the critically acclaimed superhit investigative thriller 'Por Thozhil'.
Writer Alfred Prakash, who is a close friend of director Vignesh Raja, had in an earlier interview revealed that both Vignesh and he understand each other very well.
The writers, who took four years to finalize the script of 'Por Thozhil', believe that it is better when two people write a story together, as each writer can use the other as a sounding board to test their ideas.
