Mumbai, April 3 Bollywood star Karisma Kapoor has credited her entire success in life and her stardom to her mother and actress Babita.
The granddaughter of Raj Kapoor was recently seen on the reality singing show Indian Idol, where she spoke openly and shared her feelings about her mother Babita and how she had supported her during difficult times.
Host Aditya Narayan, while addressing the audience, spoke about how Babita was the one who supported Karisma Kapoor's career.
He said that Karisma Kapoor was the on-screen superstar of the Kapoor family, but her mother, Babita, was the off-screen superstar.
Hearing this, Karisma became emotional and said, "You are making me cry now. I admire my mother. A mother should always be a mother. Of course, my family supported me, everyone supported me, but the confidence and values that my mother instilled in me are the most important."
"I think that is why I am who I am today, and definitely, I will give all the credit to my mother for who I am today."
Karisma further added that her mother Babita worked in the Hindi film industry for only about seven years, but almost all her films were successful.
The proud daughter highlighted that Babita worked with many legendary actors, including Rajesh Khanna, Jeetendra, Manoj Kumar, Dharmendra, and members of the Kapoor family, including Shammi Kapoor and Shashi Kapoor.
Babita, according to the Kapoor family traditions and rules, where women were not allowed to be part of the entertainment industry professionally, quit the Hindi cinema space.
Karisma Kapoor appeared on the reality singing show Indian Idol for its special "Golden Jubilee" episode.
