
Massive public participation marked the sanitation campaign in Karnah, as the civil administration and the army joined forces to restore cleanliness, protect water bodies, and promote environmental awareness.
March 9, Karnah: The Tehsil Administration of Karnah, in collaboration with the Indian Army and with support from the District Administration of Kupwara, organized a Mega Cleanliness Drive at Nallah Batamoji.
The drive saw enthusiastic participation from hundreds of people from different sections of society. Students, teachers, government employees, local leaders, members of the Beopar Mandal (business association), shopkeepers, and local residents actively participated in the campaign and worked together to clean the banks of the nallah (stream).
Among the prominent officials present were Colonel Sudeep Bose, Deputy Commander of the Shakti Vijay Brigade in Karnah, SDM Karnah Peerzada Mumtaz, and Tehsildar Karnah Mohd Amin Bhat.
Participants carried out extensive cleaning operations to remove garbage and waste materials from the banks of the water body. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about the importance of maintaining cleanliness around natural resources and protecting the environment.
Officials appreciated the active involvement of the local community and emphasized that such collective efforts are vital for preserving water resources and ensuring a clean and healthy environment in the Karnah region.
