
CII–Young Indians Delegation Visits Tangdhar, Explores Tourism and Enterprise Prospects
The Young Indians delegation visited Tangdhar to engage with young people, promote border tourism, and discuss homestays, entrepreneurship, and livelihood opportunities in the Karnah area of the Kupwara district.
On February 22, Kupwara: A delegation from the Confederation of Indian Industry – Young Indians visited Tangdhar and interacted with community elders, students, civil administration officials, and local entrepreneurs in Karnah.
The visit, facilitated by the Indian Army, focused on promoting tourism in the border area and battlefield, while also exploring opportunities for infrastructure development and employment generation in the region.
Young people from the area enthusiastically participated in discussions on homestays, cottage industries, and entrepreneurship. Members of the delegation assured local youth of continued mentorship, guidance, and support to help build sustainable livelihoods and strengthen tourism potential.
The programme was attended by Mr. Mumtaz, Assistant Commissioner of Revenue, Kupwara; Mr. Muddasir, BDO of Tangdhar; Mr. Ameen Bhat, Tehsildar of Karnah; Principal of GDC Tangdhar; and officials from the District Industry Department.
