
Bengaluru, April 7 The Karnataka Lokayukta police conducted simultaneous searches at over 35 locations across Karnataka on Tuesday as part of an investigation into disproportionate assets cases filed against eight government officials in different districts.
According to the Lokayukta, the coordinated raids were carried out in Mysuru, Belagavi, Mangaluru, Chitradurga, Shivamogga, Ballari, Bidar, and Kodagu, targeting residences, offices, and properties linked to the accused, as well as their relatives.
"Simultaneous searches were conducted at multiple locations, leading to the detection of substantial assets suspected to be disproportionate to the known sources of income," the Lokayukta said in a statement.
The searches revealed assets worth approximately Rs 36.92 crore, including immovable properties worth Rs 21.71 crore and movable assets amounting to Rs 15.21 crore.
In Chitradurga, retired Accounts Assistant Susheelamma H G was found with assets worth Rs 8.32 crore, including extensive land holdings and a commercial complex, with disproportionate assets estimated at Rs 8.20 crore.
She owned 13 plots, six houses, a commercial complex, 34 acres and 2 guntas of agricultural land, which is worth Rs 6.75 crore. She was also found to have gold and silver worth Rs 28.58 and vehicles worth Rs 43 lakh.
In Mysuru, Assistant Engineer G K Revan Kumar was found with assets worth Rs 4.27 crore, with disproportionate assets estimated at Rs 3.27 crore.
In Belagavi, Assistant Executive Engineer Ajay Singh Bapu Singh Rajaput allegedly amassed assets worth Rs 5.81 crore, including houses, agricultural land and bank deposits, with disproportionate assets pegged at Rs 3.78 crore.
In Mangaluru, Assistant Drug Controller Babu B N held assets valued at Rs 4.40 crore, with disproportionate assets estimated at Rs 3.37 crore.
In Shivamogga, District Officer Shobha K R possessed assets worth Rs 3.88 crore, with disproportionate assets of Rs 3.88 crore.
In Ballari, Assistant Director of Fisheries Shivanna had assets worth Rs 2.82 crore, with disproportionate assets estimated at Rs 1.93 crore.
In Bidar, retired official Suresh K L was found with assets worth Rs 4.38 crore, with disproportionate assets estimated at Rs 3.42 crore.
In Kodagu, Assistant Executive Engineer I K Puttaswamy allegedly owned assets worth Rs 2.99 crore, with disproportionate assets pegged at Rs 2.40 crore.
The searches led to the discovery of multiple immovable properties such as sites, houses, agricultural lands and commercial establishments, along with movable assets including cash, gold and silver ornaments, vehicles, bank deposits and other valuables.
