Kashmir Police Investigate Hotel's Non-Disclosure of Foreign Guests.webp

Srinagar, March 23 A case has been registered against a hotel in Pahalgam, a tourist resort in Jammu and Kashmir, on Monday, for allegedly concealing the stay of 23 foreign nationals, including 19 British citizens, police said.

Officials said a First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against Hotel Misty Mountains Laddi in Pahalgam, in the Anantnag district of south Kashmir, for violating Sections 8 and 23(b) of the Foreigners and Immigration Act, 2025, and potentially compromising the security of the foreign tourists.

During a routine check in the Dehwatoo area, police found that a group of foreign tourists had checked into the hotel on Sunday evening. However, officials said the hotel management wilfully and deliberately concealed their stay details from the Pahalgam Police Station.

Strict action will be taken against any individual or establishment found violating the prescribed regulations related to the stay and reporting of foreign nationals, the official said.

The management also failed to fill out the mandatory "Form C", required under the relevant provisions governing the stay of foreign nationals, he said.

Police said an investigation into the matter has begun.
