The people of Katera in the Samba district have expressed great joy after their village received a paved road for the first time.
Residents stated that, despite the village being located just three kilometers from Samba town, it had remained without a proper road for decades, and previous governments had failed to address the issue. They added that the road was constructed due to the efforts of local MLA Surjit Singh Slathia and the vision of the government led by Narendra Modi.
Some villagers shared that their elders had spent their entire lives walking on muddy and gravel paths, and many had passed away without ever seeing a proper road in the village. They said that the new road has brought great relief and happiness to the community.
Residents also noted that, while the country achieved independence many years ago, their village has only recently received its first paved road.
