
A large number of young people from hilly and rural areas participated in the Mega Job Fair – 2026, organized by the Employment and Counselling Centre at the Sports Stadium in Kathua. Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Sharma attended the event as the chief guest and inspected the interview counters set up by various national and multinational companies for recruitment in the private sector. He was accompanied by District Employment Officer Piyusha Khajuria.
More than 500 unemployed young people registered for interviews. Participants also came from remote areas such as Bani, Basohli, and Billawar to take advantage of employment opportunities at a single platform.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that the job fair provides an opportunity for unemployed youth to explore employment options and gain experience in the recruitment process. He added that the Kathua district has a strong industrial base, offering significant employment opportunities in the private sector.
