
Lieutenant General Rajan Sharawat, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Rising Star Corps, reviewed the operational readiness of troops deployed in the Machhedi sector of Kathua district in Jammu and Kashmir today.
The Bani-Machhedi mountainous region has experienced several attacks and encounters over the past two years and is considered a potential infiltration route to the districts of Doda, Kishtwar, and Udhampur from the International Border.
According to the Defence PRO, Jammu, the senior Army officer assessed the security situation and reviewed the preparedness measures being undertaken by the troops in the sensitive sector.
During the visit, Lt Gen Sharawat commended the troops for their battle readiness, high morale, and unwavering commitment to mission success under all operational conditions. He emphasized the importance of sustained vigilance and robust security measures to maintain peace and stability in the region.
