Thane, March 20 Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) Commissioner Abhinav Goyal presented the civic body's budget for 2026-27 on Friday, proposing a total expenditure of ₹3,186.49 crore with no increase in property or civic tax rates.

According to an official release, the outlay leaves a surplus of ₹10.51 lakh.

The corporation expects ₹600.01 crore from property tax and ₹510.03 crore from GST subsidies. It proposes to raise ₹200 crore through municipal bonds from the open market to fund new projects.

Key infrastructure projects announced in the budget included a new two-lane flyover at Kopar and a railway flyover at Mota Gaon, as well as a 750 TPD Waste-to-Energy plant at Umbarde and a 200 TPD Bio-CNG project at Barave.

It also allocates funds for Hepatitis-A vaccinations for municipal students, sanitary napkin vending machines, and the establishment of Astronomy Clubs with modern telescopes in schools.

The KDMC also plans to upgrade stray dog sterilization centers and install 24 self-cleaning eco-toilets across the city.
