New Delhi, April 8 In response to the Election Commission's tweet about the Trinamool Congress, Arvind Kejriwal, the national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party, said on Wednesday that there was no need to even suggest that the electoral body was working under the BJP and taking direct instructions from it.
In a post on X, the EC had said, "ECI's direct communication with the Trinamool Congress. This time, the elections in West Bengal will surely be: free from fear, violence, intimidation, inducement, and free from booth rigging and source jamming."
Responding to the post, Kejriwal said, "Now there is no need to even suggest that the Election Commission is working under the BJP and taking direct instructions from the BJP. This is now out in the open and extremely unfortunate," Kejriwal said in a post on X in Hindi.
"At the very least, by tweeting in such language, don't publicly damage the reputation of such an important institution," he added.
Earlier, a meeting between a Trinamool Congress delegation and the full bench of the EC ended on a contentious note, with the TMC saying the panel's chief asked them to "go away" at the end of the seven-minute meeting, while the EC accused them of "shouting".
