
The deadline for submitting nominations for the Kerala assembly elections is tomorrow. Candidates in all 140 constituencies are busy filing their nomination papers and conducting campaign activities. The scrutiny of nomination papers will take place the day after tomorrow. Voting will be held on April 9, and vote counting will take place on May 4.
Meanwhile, election campaigning has intensified across the state. Candidates are actively meeting voters in person. Campaigns are being led by senior leaders from all political parties.
For the LDF (Left Democratic Front), Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will begin a statewide tour starting tomorrow. He will address meetings at 48 locations until April 3rd. Leaders from the CPI(M), including M. A. Baby, M. V. Govindan, A. Vijayaraghavan, Prakash Karat, and Brinda Karat, will also speak at public meetings in various locations.
For the UDF (United Democratic Front), Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will arrive in Kerala for campaigning. His campaign will begin with a rally in Kozhikode on the 25th of this month. For the NDA (National Democratic Alliance), senior national leaders, including Union ministers, will visit the state in the coming days as part of their campaign activities. Meanwhile, requests to add new names to the voter list can be made until tomorrow in the state.
