Kerala BJP Highlights Public Dissatisfaction in CM's Constituency.webp

Thiruvananthapuram, March 7 Kerala BJP president Rajeev Chandrashekhar claimed on Saturday that more than 3,000 complaints were received from the Dharmadam Assembly constituency of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan during a recent "mega adalat" organized by the BJP-led NDA.

In a Facebook post, Chandrashekhar alleged that despite a decade of representation by the chief minister, several residents in Dharmadam were still struggling with basic issues such as housing, drinking water, and road connectivity.

"Anyone who visits the Dharmadam constituency will realize that the claim of an extreme poverty-free Kerala is merely a hollow assertion. People are tired of the MLA's empty promises and neglect," he alleged.

He said that the large number of complaints received during the adalat reflected public dissatisfaction with the governance in the constituency.

Chandrashekhar also claimed that people were increasingly voicing the slogan "Enough of this MLA; let change begin," which he said had become a symbol of a popular movement seeking political change in Kerala.

According to him, thousands of people attended the BJP-NDA's mega adalat and public interaction programme in the constituency and submitted grievances.

The BJP leader further said the party would work sincerely to address the complaints raised by the people and promised that their issues would be taken up for resolution.

Meanwhile, addressing party workers at the Nemom Assembly constituency here, Chandrashekhar said that development is the basic right of people and not anyone's favour.

Chandrasekhar had already expressed interest to contest from Nemom, currently represented by senior CPI(M) leader and General Education Minister V Sivankutty, in the upcoming Assembly polls.

Nemom, which has a considerable vote base for the saffron party, is one of the constituencies where the BJP pins its hope the most.

Chandrasekhar said people of various constituencies in Kerala, including Nemom, are fed up with their present MLAs and are longing for a change.

"What the people of Nemom, Kazhakkoottam, Vattiyoorkkavu or Thiruvananthapuram wish for is an MLA who dedicates themselves to working for them. They don't want any more politicians who win their votes by promising many things and then divert their attention later," he said.

Stating that the politics of BJP-NDA and its leaders is very clear, Chandrashekhar said they are not indulging in public works to fill the bank accounts of their children or to plunder the gold at Sabarimala Lord Ayyappa temple.

"That is what the Congress and the CPI(M) have been doing for decades. But we are seeking a mandate to replicate the development model that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been implementing in India for the last 12 years," he said.

The BJP state chief also assured comprehensive development and corruption-free administration if the BJP wins in Nemom.
