Kerala Elections: CPI(M) Announces Revised Candidate List.webp

Thiruvananthapuram, March 19 Sports Minister V Abdurahiman will contest from the Tirur Assembly constituency instead of Tanur in the upcoming Kerala Assembly elections, the CPI(M) said on Thursday while releasing a fresh list of candidates.

The party had earlier announced the list of 81 candidates.

Abdurahiman, who won from Tanur in 2021, had sought the Tirur seat this time and will contest as an independent backed by the CPI(M).

He was initially allotted Tanur in the earlier list and had waited for the revised list before launching his campaign.

In the fresh list, the party has also fielded P Jiji from Kondotty and K Preethi from Kottakkal.

The Kerala Assembly elections are scheduled to be held on April 9.
