Kerala Polls: Modi Highlights Alleged Congress-Left Ties

Kerala Polls: Modi Highlights Alleged Congress-Left Ties.webp

March 29, New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a public rally in Palakkad, Kerala, as campaigning intensified ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections in the southern state. Targeting the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) and the Opposition United Democratic Front (UDF), he accused both alliances of making empty promises to the people for decades.

The Prime Minister alleged that while the Congress and Left parties present themselves as rivals in Kerala, they often collaborate in other parts of the country. He cited examples of their political understanding in states like Tamil Nadu and at the national level, claiming that such arrangements expose their "hidden alliances." He said he would place the reality of these ties before the people of Kerala.

PM Modi urged voters to remain cautious of both fronts, asserting that their track record had failed to meet public expectations. He positioned the BJP as a credible alternative focused on development and transparent governance.

Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister also held a roadshow in Palakkad, which witnessed a large turnout, with supporters lining the streets to greet him and express their backing. Polling in Kerala is scheduled for April 9, while the counting of votes will take place on May 4.
