Kolkata, April 6 The Congress on Monday announced 40 star campaigners for the first phase of the West Bengal assembly elections, featuring party president Mallikarjun Kharge and several other senior leaders from across the country.
The list also includes Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, and Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu.
"We have fielded a strong team of campaigners, including national leaders, to ensure that the party remains competitive in the elections," a Congress leader said.
"We are contesting the Bengal assembly elections on our own this time, and all our senior leaders will campaign extensively. The idea is to reach out to voters across constituencies in the first phase," he told
