
In Assam, election campaigning intensified today as senior leaders from the BJP and Congress addressed rallies across the state. Voting in the state will take place in a single phase on Thursday.
Senior BJP leader Sarbananda Sonowal addressed a public meeting in Dhemaji. He alleged that previous Congress governments allowed illegal immigration and land encroachment. He emphasized that the BJP has prioritized the welfare of indigenous communities, distributing over eight lakh land titles to secure their rights, and promised to implement the party's 31-point election manifesto with full commitment.
Meanwhile, party leader and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma addressed rallies in Bongaigaon, Palashbari, and Goalpara.
Senior BJP leader and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Assam tomorrow to campaign in Bhawanipur-Sorbhog, Hojai, and Dibrugarh.
On the other hand, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi held rallies in Biswanath and Golaghat today. He claimed that the BJP failed to deliver on key promises made during the previous assembly polls. He pledged jobs for youth, better healthcare, women's empowerment, and raising daily wages of tea garden workers to 450 rupees if voted to power.
