March 30, Kohima: Nagaland achieved its first victory at the ongoing 1st Khelo India Tribal Games in Chhattisgarh, securing its first medal in athletics today.
Twenty-six-year-old athlete from the Noklak district, Tsuchoi T, won the bronze medal in the women's 5000 metres event, finishing with a time of 18 minutes and 35.6 seconds.
She finished behind Nedi Ngi of Arunachal Pradesh and Aarti Dawar of Madhya Pradesh, who took the top two spots.
The Nagaland team is competing across multiple disciplines, including archery, athletics, and wrestling, at the Games.
